GUIDELINES FOR THE EDITORIAL OPERATION

THE INSTITUTIONAL JOURNALS OF AUTONOMOUS CHAPINGO UNIVERSITY(THE ACADEMIC JOURNALS OF AUTONOMOUS CHAPINGO UNIVERSITY)

One of the fundamental objectives of Autonomous Chapingo University (UACh) is to communicate the results of scientific endeavor. Given the importance of this activity, its organizational structure includes the Coordination of Institutional Journals (CORI for its acronym in Spanish), which coordinates the institutional support required by the editors and editorial boards of the following journals to achieve their objectives: “Revista Chapingo Serie Ciencias Forestales y del Ambiente”, “Revista Chapingo Serie Horticultura”, “Revista Chapingo Serie Zonas Áridas”, “Textual, análisis del medio rural”, “Revista de Geografía Agrícola” , “Ingeniería Agrícola y Biosistemas” and “Revista Chapingo Serie Agricultura Tropical”.

The editors and editorial boards of each journal independently decide whether to publish a submitted manuscript and have full responsibility over content. The coordinator in turn has the final responsibility for ensuring that all academic journals bearing UACh’s imprint comply with their performance and quality indicators.

The first phase of the editorial management of the journals (technical review, peer review, rejection-acceptance) is conducted by the editor and the editorial board of each journal, this process being carried out through the use of the Editorial Manager© and Open Journal System© software, depending on the journal. In this second phase, CORI performs a thorough final review of all articles to be published.

CORI focuses all its efforts on constantly improving the quality of UACh’s academic journals. The general editorial policies of all scientific journals published under the UACh imprint can be found on the pages that are organized thematically and located below. We follow the basic guidelines defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics COPE©, which are indicative in nature, not restrictive, and have served to generate the Manual of Good Publishing Practices; each editorial board makes its decisions independently, in accordance with the Guidelines for the Editorial Operation of each journal and, where appropriate, the General Guidelines for the Editorial Management of the Institutional Journals of Autonomous Chapingo University. Authors wishing to obtain specific information on the editorial policies of the journals are encouraged to visit the respective websites.
